Support The Mission

We provide free tennis training, mentorship, and life skills programs that help youth build confidence, discipline, leadership, and resilience. Through positive coaching and consistent support, we create a safe environment where kids can grow on and off the court.

We Provide Access and Guidance

Your support helps provide free tennis lessons, equipment, uniforms, transportation, mentorship, meals, and educational opportunities for underserved youth. By donating, volunteering, or partnering with us, you help give more kids the chance to grow, succeed, and believe in their future.

Watch Lives Transform

When kids are given the right support, they gain confidence, improve in school, build stronger relationships, and develop a greater sense of direction. The impact goes far beyond tennis and helps create stronger futures for the next generation.

Changing Lives Through Tennis,
Mentorship, and Opportunity

Most kids do not lack talent, they lack access, guidance, opportunity, and someone who believes in them. At Dr. B. Jones Tennis Academy, we provide free tennis training, mentorship, and life skills programs for underserved youth throughout Essex County. Led by a certified professional and NCAA Division I coach, the academy helps young people build confidence, discipline, leadership, and a stronger vision for their future. Your support helps provide equipment, court time, transportation, meals, mentorship, tournament opportunities, and safe spaces where kids can grow and feel supported. With your donation, volunteer efforts, or partnership, you can help open doors, create brighter futures, and show every child they are capable of more than they ever imagined.

Meet The Founder

Behind every foundation is a story and for Dr. Bernard Jones, tennis changed everything. Growing up in the South Bronx during the 1960s and 70s, he faced the kind of challenges that could have easily led him down the wrong path. But with the love and guidance of his parents, Dorothy and Cliff, and a life changing introduction to tennis at Crotona Park, he found purpose, discipline, and hope.

From taking his first lesson at the Hoe Avenue Boys’ Club in 1972 to earning a scholarship to the Port Washington Tennis Academy, Dr. Jones built a life around perseverance and opportunity. He later coached with the New York Junior Tennis League, led the student tennis club at Syracuse University, helped guide student athletes at NJIT, and now serves as Head Pro at Berkeley Tennis Club.
